NAPSAWU COMMENCES SALARY REVIEW MEMBERSHIP CONSULTATIONS ON 22 SEPTEMBER 2025

On Sunday 21 September 2025 public sector trade union, the National Public Service and Allied Workers Union (NAPSAWU) announced that they would be commencing with nationwide membership consultations on the salary review report on Monday 22 and on Tuesday 23 September 2025. 

The announcement was made by the NAPSAWU Acting General Secretary (AGS) Comrade Msimeto Malindzisa on the union’s facebook page. AGS Msimeto announced that they are commencing with the consultations after being contacted by the consultant on Friday 19th September 2025 whereat the union was given the green light to commence consultations with members on the report.

The AGS further announced that each of the four region of Eswatini would host two consultation meetings, at two different towns, one to be held at 10 am and another at 1400hrs on each of the two days. On Monday 22 September consultations will be held in Manzini and Hhohho regions simultaneously. In the Manzini region the consultation meeting will take place in Manzini City at 10AM and Mankayane town at 1400hrs. Then in the Hhohho region there will be meetings Mbabane City at 10AM and Piggs Peak town at 1400hrs. 

On Tuesday 23 September 2025 consultations meetings will take place in the Shiselweni region and Lubombo regions simultaneously. In the Shiselweni region the meeting would be held in Hlathikhulu town (10am) and Hluthi (1400hrs) town while in Lubombo the meetings venues would be in BigBend (10am) town and in Siteki (1400hrs) respectively.

At the time of the announcement, logistics such as the exact venues or halls in the selected towns for the consultations were still pending finalisation by respective branch leadership according to AGS Msimeto. He said, “Members will be appraised by the respective branches where the exact venues for the consultations will be".

AGS ended by imploring supervisors to be cooperative and understanding given the crucial nature of the exercise.

70 individuals appointed into Emabandla at a high cost to the fiscus

  Eswatini Attorney General Sifiso Khumalo (online picture) King Mswati III the Head of State of Eswatini on Saturday issued a directive through the Attorney General Sifiso Khumalo appointing around 70 individuals into several national committees, also known as Emabandla. The appointments come more than a month after the term of office of the previous Emabandla’s term of office came to an end and their term in office was extended indefinitely by the King through a gazette issued by the Attorney General.
