SNAT PRESIDENT ACREDITED TO ATTEND THE 2024 ILO CONFERENCE

The President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) Mbongwa Ernest Dlamini was recently confirmed as a delegate and therefore will attend the upcoming 2024 International Labour Organisation's (ILO) International Labour Conference (ILC) that will takes place in Geneva ,Switzerland in June 2024. 

The announcement about the president attending the ILC was made by the Secretary General of the SNAT in Mbabane on Thursday 28th March 2024 while speaking on SNAT's social media platform with SNAT Editor Mcolisi Motsa.  President Mbongwa has been accredited as a delegate to attend the ILC as a delegate of the Education International (EI) the educators global trade union where the SNAT is an affiliate together with 386 other educators trade unions around the globe. 

It is expected that the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland (TUCOSWA) the labour federation will also feature delegates at the conference ,and in the last conference (2023) they featured two leaders, the President and the Secretary General as delegates.

According the the ILO  website the 2024 version of the ILC will be the 112th and it will take place between the 03 June 2024 and the 14th June 2024 in Geneva Switzerland. Besides the standing agenda items such as the report by the Director General, discussion of the budget, and reports related to the application of conventions and recommendations, the 112th conference will setting standard against biological hazards   as well as discuss the strategic objective of the fundamental principles and rights at the workplace. The conference will also abrogate four labour conventions.

NAPSAWU HAS SUSPENDED THREE NATIONAL OFFICE BEARERS
